Martin Luther King Day- Yachad Program

BY Hudy Berger

This past Martin luther King Day, we participated in a fun and meaningful program with Yachad. Yachad is a thriving program for Jewish teens with disabilities. It also allows others to understand that even if someone is different than you, you must still treat him/her with the same respect. This concept is what Martin Luther King Day is all about. The Yachad participants came to Westchester and brought a joyous energy.  We played an intense game of dodgeball, ate delicious pizza, and had a dance party. It allowed everyone to learn how to be more inclusive and thoughtful of the people around us. This was a great message and opportunity for Westchester  students  as well as the Yachad members.  Everyone enjoyed the experience and each person was able to express him/herself and just have fun.
