Interviewer:  What made you pick Westchester?

Ms. Granitto: I chose to be a teacher at WHHS because I enjoyed the small school environment. I thought having a smaller group of students and faculty in the building would allow me to make deeper connections with everyone and become a stronger teacher through these relationships. 

 

Interviewer:  If there was one thing you could change what would it be? (could be about the school or anything in general)

Ms. Granitto: One major change that I think the world (including myself) needs is less social media. Instant gratification and doing things for other people to see you do them take away from the value of your experience.

 

Interviewer:  What do you like to do outside of school?

Ms. Granitto: Outside of school, I like to hang out with friends and family, go shopping and go for walks to exercise. I spend more time than I'd like to admit on the reality TV world but everyone has their guilty pleasures.

 

Interviewer:  What is your perfect dream vacation?

Ms. Granitto: My ideal vacation is surrounded with family and friends on an island with beautiful weather, good food, and countless hours by the beach.

 

Interviewer:  What part of history is your favorite to teach and why?

Ms. Granitto: I enjoy teaching Global 9 more than most other courses for this specific reason: Global 9 focuses on the ancient world and it is very important to understand how the ancient world made progresses and advancements that brought us to the modern achievements we know so well. The ancient world is so abstract to 9th graders that it is very enjoyable for me to have them look at these civilizations with modern history in mind. 

 

Interviewer:  Where do you see yourself in five years?

Ms. Granitto: In 5 years, I hope to have touched the lives of many students and to have continued to grow as a teacher. Maybe married? Who knows? Time will tell!

 

Interviewer:  Lastly, do you have any hidden talents?

Ms. Granitto: Unfortunately no but hopefully a hidden talent pops up sooner or later!
